My Story
For years, I knew something didn't feel right.
I spent countless hours in doctors' offices, sitting through appointment after appointment, hoping someone could explain why I felt the way I did. There were endless rounds of blood work, tests, and conversations that often left me with more questions than answers.
Along the way, I discovered that many of the foods I was eating were contributing to symptoms that affected how I felt every day. What followed was years of trial and error—learning what my body could tolerate, what ingredients triggered symptoms, and how to navigate a world where food seemed to be at the center of every gathering, celebration, and social event.
I spent countless hours standing in grocery store aisles reading ingredient labels, researching unfamiliar ingredients, and trying to determine what foods were safe for me to enjoy. What used to be a simple shopping trip often became an overwhelming process of investigating every product that made its way into my cart.
In my own kitchen, there were plenty of failed recipes, wasted ingredients, and moments of frustration. Learning how to cook and bake differently wasn't something that happened overnight. It took patience, persistence, and a willingness to keep trying even when things didn't turn out as planned.
There were also moments that felt incredibly isolating. I missed dinners, holiday gatherings, celebrations, and social events because the stress of navigating food restrictions felt overwhelming. Sometimes it felt easier to stay home than to explain my limitations or worry about what I could and couldn't eat.
But through all of those challenges, I learned something important: wellness doesn't have to be perfect to be powerful.
Little by little, I discovered recipes, ingredients, and habits that helped me feel more nourished, confident, and empowered in my own health journey. What once felt overwhelming became manageable, and eventually, it became something I was passionate about sharing with others.
Golden Hour Wellness was born from that journey.
